VGS headquarters located in Carlstadt, New Jersey has an immediate opening for an Industrial Designer. The ideal candidate will become familiar with and adhere to company product standards. This individual will combine their knowledge of design, engineering and manufacturing to create new parts, product and concepts as well as improve upon existing products. This individual will be directly involved in the development of products/projects and provide recommendations when needed. The ideal candidate should be comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities Include:

•Examine materials and manufacturing requirements to produce cost effectively.

• Sketch renderings and develop virtual models of designs.

• Design, model and test prototypes for production.

• Identify, assess and select materials needed for product and project designs.

• Provide final Illustrator/CAD/SolidWorks drawings and specifications for fabrication.

• Create BOM.

• Travel to vendors as needed to evaluate process and present regular progress reports.

• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in industrial design, architecture, or engineering

• Proficiency in CAD or SolidWork is a requirement

• Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw a Plus

• Graphic Design a Plus

Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

• Resourceful, organized with attention to detail

• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment

• Strong analytical skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
