Now we’re going all in on hardware and need the right Head of Design to take this next level - developing transformative products that unlock the potential of cannabis and give users the experience they deserve.
The Opportunity
This is a really unique role and opportunity. You’ll own the Product development function and get to build it out from scratch. It’s very entrepreneurial with start-up energy, but with the resources, customers and infrastructure built from 11 years of success in the space. You’ll share in the profits of what you create and have the opportunity to really grow as a leader.
The Role
As the Head of Product, you won’t just lead the design and development of our next generation of vaporizers—you’ll also build a state-of-the-art design and R&D lab from scratch. You’ll have the opportunity to assemble your dream team in your location and lead us in creating groundbreaking products that will set the standard in cannabis. You’ll work directly with the founder and CEO to take ideas from concept to the hands of our customers.
You Are
A passionate leader with curiosity, hungry to create and challenge the ways things are done. You’re a builder with a first principles, system thinker mindset that is leveraging technology and AI in their work and is excited by the challenge of integrating exponential technologies alongside a super talented small team to create truly transformative products that unlock the cannabis experience. You can have an Industrial Design background, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer- someone who has a history of making successful, unique products from sketch to shelf.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design process for new dry herb vaporizer products, combining cutting-edge technology with great design.
- Build and manage the design and R&D lab from the ground up, ensuring it fosters creativity, innovation, and world-class development.
- Create detailed product concepts, prototypes, and design models, and help test and refine them to perfection.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior designers and any collaborators who join the team.
What You Bring
- A proven track record as a Design Leader in Consumer Electronics, with a portfolio that demonstrates your experience in designing Hardware, lifestyle products, (bonus points for vape hardware).
- Ability to build and lead a strong team
- An eye for detail with excellent design taste with a focus on UX
- Hands-on experience in building products in R&D environments
- Expertise in design software such as SolidWorks, or Fusion 360, and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
- UX/UI experience with a solid understanding of user-centered design principles, wireframing, and user testing. You know how to design not just great products, but great user experiences.
- A strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials, with hands-on experience in building and prototyping.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas to both creative and technical teams.
- A passion for design and technology, with a keen eye for creating exceptional user experiences.
- You’re a problem solver that thrives in ambiguity, excited to take on new challenges and to grow.
