About Our Team
The Lenovo Design + Innovation team is a global group of highly skilled and talented people doing what we love, designing the very best world-class products. You will be an integral part of the team, working together across continents and cultures in a friendly, fast-paced and inspiring work environment.
We are looking to add an Advisory Wearables Designer to our team that will help us visualize and craft the future of hardware and software at Lenovo with new AI innovations. This role would be a fit for you if you’re passionate, optimistic and an excellent collaborator. You’ll report to our Director of Industrial Design working closely with our Strategic Design, User Experience, Software and Engineering teams to help build the foundation for Lenovo’s future device interactions.
Core Responsibilities
- Work closely with research teams to capture the needs of our customers and integrate user feedback into future focused concepts
- Understand anthropometrics, ergonomics and the ability to design for comfort and flexibility within the device ecosystem
- Collaborate with other designers and engineers to ensure that wearable devices can seamlessly integrate with the device ecosystem and can easily go from concept to market
- Rapidly prototype wearable devices with a strong focus on accessibility inclusivity
- Build relationships and appropriately communicate with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements to meet both, short and long term goals
- Understand digital requirements and ability to visualize software integration
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and tech developments, in addition to maintaining a strong understanding of the role of AI and how that might affect the future of technology and human interaction with their devices
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of Industrial Design, Product Design, and User Experience Design
- 2+ years of Experience working on Wearables Design
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Design, Fashion Design, User Experience or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering a wearable product to market
- Strong portfolio of UXUI design work showcasing hardware and software interactions, product concepts, user interface mockups, and prototypes for wearable products
- 5+ years of Experience working with hardware design
- 10+ years of Experience driving wearables design
- Proficiency with Adobe CS Photoshop, Illustrator, Solidworks, Keyshot
- Ability to present designs to large groups utilizing MS Office (PowerPoint)
- Ability to visualize, craft and articulate complex concepts into inspirational design stories
- Ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external partners
- Experience bringing a product to market with AI is a plus
This role is hybrid at our Morrisville, NC location 3 days per week. Relocation assistance can be provided.
