Dynacraft BSC, Inc., one of the largest mass-market distributors of bicycles, battery-operated products and electric ride-ons in America has an immediate opening for an imaginative Toy Designer to join our team as an Industrial Designer I in our Savannah, Georgia office.
Duties and responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to, focusing on the conceptualization and prototyping of innovative bike accessories, ride-ons and other toys that inspire joy and creativity in children. The ideal candidate will develop original concepts informed by market trends, consumer feedback, and the developmental needs of children.
Additional responsibilities include employing both manual and digital design techniques – such as sketching and 3D printing – to create prototypes and models. There is close collaboration with product managers, sales, graphic designers, and marketing team members to ensure designs meet safety standards, manufacturability, and market appeal.
The ideal candidate will research and select materials that are safe, durable, and environmentally friendly, while creating design specifications through product sketches and CAD models.

- This role involves conceptualizing, designing, and prototyping innovative bike accessories and ride-ons that inspire imagination and spark joy in children
- Concept Development: Create original toy concepts based on market trends, consumer and retail feedback, and developmental needs of children.
- Design & Prototyping: Utilize manual and digital design techniques (sketching, sculpting, 3D printing etc.) to develop prototypes and models of toys.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product managers, sales, graphic designers and marketing teams to ensure designs meet safety standards, manufacturability, and market appeal.
- Material Selection: Research and select appropriate materials that are safe, durable, and environmentally friendly.
- Documentation: Create detailed design specifications, through product sketches and CAD models.
- Trend Analysis: Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies in toy design and present these trends on a regular basis.
- Reviews weekly objectives and accomplishments and tracks them to assure that deadlines are met.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, product design or a related discipline is required.
- Portfolio: A robust portfolio demonstrating creative toy designs and product sketches.
- Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Software: Proficient in Adobe Suite and one or more computer modeling programs (Fusion 360 is a plus).
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This is a non-exempt, hourly position. Overtime is not common with this position but may be occasionally required.
- Must be able to maintain our regular schedule of Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and have proof of insurance
- Must be authorized to work in the United States

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some lifting is required. This would require the ability to lift paper, parts, sample products, open cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Proper lifting techniques are required. This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
