Position Summary
The 3D Industrial Design position will be part of the Research and Development Department (R&D). Reporting to an owner and VP of Development, this position will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing and delivering impactful and innovative designs and solutions, as well as maintaining visual appearance, usability and brand continuity, for a wide variety of activities and campaigns. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of creative brand execution across multiple forms of media – print, web, multimedia, digital publishing and social media.
Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities described below are essential functions of the internship:
Cinema 4D - Graphical animation and design with 3D models. Proficiency in Maya or Blender is also acceptable.
Graphic Design
Conceptualize, develop and deliver high-quality custom designs, from inception to final delivery
Rapid prototyping of conceptual ideas
Project Management/Vendor Management
Create and maintain project schedules and detailed job logs
Prioritize work based on shifting deadlines; monitor new design requests
Maintain digital assets
Work with team members, clients, vendors, etc.
Source and work with vendors to ensure high-quality deliverables and deadlines are met
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree or be currently enrolled in discipline-related field with 1–3 years of experience or demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience
Strong design portfolio
Proficiency in Cinema 4D or Blender or Maya
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (need strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills)
Thorough knowledge of visual design principles, including graphic design, layout, typography, color and corporate identity
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate and present creative ideas and concepts
Strong project management, organizational and time-management skills
Understanding of print and digital production and workflow
Self-starter with the ability to work independently yet still take creative direction from others
Ability to thrive in high-paced, team-oriented work environment under tight deadlines
Basic photography/videography video editing skills
Some experience using or understanding Solid Works parts and assemblies, Microsoft Office, and file management
Physical Requirements:
-Prolonged periods of walking, standing and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
-Working in a manufacturing setting with machinery and equipment.
-Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
