Who is Palermo House?

At Palermo House, our mission is to create unique products for the home that help unwind everyday life and cultivate leisure. Our best-selling indoor and outdoor Dume Lounge Chair has quickly become a staple in homes all over the country, marrying the comfort of a bean bag chair with the chic style of a beloved vintage piece. Alongside Dume, we make modular sofas (Modo) and floor mats (Matuka), and we're building out a full lounge collection across price points.

We're a small, fast-growing direct-to-consumer (DTC) brand based in Los Angeles. We manufacture with overseas partners, and we've been featured in Architectural Digest, Cosmopolitan, and HGTV.

About the Role

As our product line grows, our product knowledge needs a real owner. Right now too much of how our products are built lives in scattered files and in people's heads. We're looking for people of all levels to build that knowledge base, own it, and use it to make our products better.

This is a full-time, hands-on role for someone who loves how things are made and wants real responsibility from day one.

What You'll Do

• Technical documentation: Own the specs, BOMs, drawings, and construction know-how for every product we sell.
• Spec packets: Build and maintain a complete, organized spec packet for every item. For a chair cover, the packet covers material usage, cost per material, construction notes, etc.
• Quality & design improvement: Use what you learn from specs, returns, and customer feedback to make products customers love more and return less.
• New product development: Support new products from first concept through production samples and launch.
• Factory collaboration: Work directly with our manufacturing partners on specs, samples, and quality.

Qualifications

• A degree in industrial design, furniture design, or a related field.
• At least 1-3 years of experience working with factories, designing furniture or similar products; willing to consider candidates with various amounts of experience, from entry to senior level.
• Must be based in Los Angeles, CA or Southern California
• Strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in how things are made.
• A knack for organizing technical information so other people can actually use it.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, domestic and international, for factory visits and trade shows.
• Experience with upholstery, fabrics, foam, or cushions is a plus.
• CAD experience and comfort working in spreadsheets are a plus.
