Head of Design

Role Summary:

We are seeking a visionary Head of Industrial Design and UX to lead the transformation of USHA’s product portfolio into a premium, design-led brand ecosystem. You will define, build, and enforce a distinctive, cohesive global design language inspired by clean European aesthetics, modern ergonomics, and sustainable materials. You will oversee the complete lifecycle of product design, turning USHA into an icon of contemporary, functional luxury for modern homes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Strategy & Portfolio Identity: Formulate and execute a long-term Industrial Design vision. Establish a signature Design Language System (DLS) across all category verticals to elevate brand perception and shelf presence.
• Product Execution & CMF: Direct the design team from initial ideation, sketching, CAD surfacing, and rapid prototyping to full mass-production handoff. Drive premium CMF (Color, Materials, Finish) strategies (e.g., brushed metals, matte textures, subtle interface lighting).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management, R&D, Engineering, and Tooling teams to ensure design intent is maintained without sacrificing cost targets, manufacturability, or launch timelines.
• User-Centric Innovation: Integrate human-factors engineering, ergonomics, and smart home UX/UI design to create seamless physical-digital interactions.
• Team Leadership & Studio Setup: Build, mentor, and lead an in-house world-class design studio. Manage external global design agency relationships and vendors.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design / Product Design from a premier institute (NID, IIT-IDC or similar).
• Proven track record of bringing at least 5 award-winning consumer hardware/appliances from concept to high-volume production.
• Advanced mastery of CAD tools (Alias, SolidWorks, Rhino), rendering software (KeyShot), and prototyping techniques.
