ALIAS Modeler

Job Description :

• Create and refine high-quality Class-A surfaces using Autodesk Alias, ICEM Surf, or equivalent tools.
• Interpret design sketches, scan data, or CAD inputs into fully developed digital surfaces.
• Ensure surfaces meet styling intent and production requirements (A-class continuity, manufacturability, tooling feasibility).
• Collaborate with designers, CAS modellers, and engineers to resolve technical challenges and implement feedback.
• Support design reviews by preparing visualizations and documentation of surfacing work.
• Manage tasks with minimal supervision, tracking progress to meet key deadlines and deliverables.
• Participate in design and engineering feasibility reviews and provide surfacing recommendations.
• Ability to lead small projects or guide junior modelers.

Required Skills :

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Class-A Modeller in an automotive or product development environment.
• Proficiency in surface modeling tools such as Autodesk Alias or ICEM Surf.
• Solid understanding of Class-A surfacing principles including curvature continuity (G2/G3), highlight flow, and manufacturability.
• Experience working across concept, production, and tooling stages of design.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience with visualization tools like VRED, KeyShot, or Blender for model presentation.
• Expertise in Sub-D modelling added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX)
• Understanding of GD&T, parting lines, and engineering release processes.
• Exposure to global OEM or Tier-1 supplier environments.
