Location: Exton, PA

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Contract: 12 months

Pay Rate: $28.00/hr W2

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday

Position Overview

We are looking for a Soft Goods Designer to join a product design team in Exton, PA. This role will be involved in conceptualizing and developing new soft goods products, from initial ideas through prototypes and production-ready concepts.

You’ll work closely with Design, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to develop products that deliver strong customer experiences.

Entry-level candidates may be considered if they have the required patternmaking, sewing, and design skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop designs for new soft goods products and support updates to existing products.
  • Create concepts that consider form, aesthetics, usability, materials, and construction.
  • Develop basic flat patterns and understand draping techniques.
  • Sew prototypes and samples using industrial sewing machines.
  • Select appropriate fabrics, fillers, and other materials based on product requirements.
  • Create production-ready concepts while considering manufacturing requirements.
  • Generate sketches, concepts, presentations, and other visual communications.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Design, Color & Trend, Fashion, Usability, and Craftsmanship teams.
  • Partner with Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, and global teams as needed.
  • Manage individual projects and timelines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Present design concepts and communicate ideas effectively in English.
  • Travel approximately once per quarter as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Apparel Design, Soft Goods Design, or a related field.
  • Formal training or undergraduate coursework in patternmaking.
  • Strong sewing skills and understanding of garment/product construction techniques.
  • Ability to use industrial sewing machines to create prototypes and samples.
  • Ability to sketch and communicate design ideas and concepts.
  • Knowledge of basic flat pattern development and draping.
  • Understanding of ergonomics/human factors as they relate to soft goods.
  • Familiarity with fabrics, fillers, materials, and construction techniques.
  • Ability to create production-ready concepts and understand basic manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other 2D/3D or presentation tools.
  • Strong visual communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • 3+ years of relevant Soft Goods/Fashion design experience preferred, though entry-level candidates with the required technical skill set may be considered.
  • Ability to travel at least once per quarter.
