THE POSITION Design Central is seeking a Senior Product/Industrial Designer to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. CORE REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Collaborating with team members
- Concept sketching
- CAD development
- 3D renderings & visualization
- Physical prototyping
- Client presentation design
- Design-related research
- Project/team management
- Client relationship development
- Participate in client meetings in a professional, efficient, confident and effective manner
- Be an active and reliable team member at Design Central
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a history of problem-solving, good design, sketching ability, form development, manufacturing understanding, and a professional presentation of process and results
- Experience in leading project teams
- Positive, flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic can-do attitude
- Ability to balance multiple projects
- Strong aesthetic sense
- Aptitude for mechanical development a plus
- Graphic sensitivity and experience with UI a plus
- Candidates should be self-motivated, results-oriented with personal drive
- Effective communicator
- Interest in the big picture and the views of others
- Interdisciplinary team experience
- Desire for growth, improvement, and a goal of lifelong learning
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- B.S./B.A. in Product Design/ Industrial Design
- 4+ years of experience
- Experience in project management that includes tracking to time and cost targets, as well as, client management
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Proficiency in 3D CAD Software applications, preferably SolidWorks
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
