Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking an Industrial Designer (Junior to Mid Level, dependent on prior experience) to join our team - someone who is passionate about creating exceptionally conceived and executed products that people love. You\'ll have a critical role contributing end to end in the development process, co-creating the next wave of meaningful Box Clever products. Our studio is a dynamic environment that requires a commitment to excellence, and a team-first mentality.

This role is in-person at our San Francisco studio.

We have a flexible work schedule based on project flow.

Role & Responsibilities

As a Junior to Mid Level Industrial Designer, you will support projects in all development phases.

• Support design strategy through an awareness of trends and inspo image gathering.
• Prolific concept generation to support programs in early phases, as part of a collaborative team.
• Support ideation through proficiency in creating physical mockups, including 3D printing.
• Create compelling presentations that build trust with our clients.
• Prepare for and potentially co-lead client meetings and presentations.
• Engage in creative dialogue with confidence, internally and to clients.
• Guide designs through DFM, to translate concepts into production-ready designs.
• Work collaboratively across all levels and take creative direction from our leadership team.

Skills & Behaviors

Must have a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design.

• 2 to 6 years of industrial design experience (consulting and/or in-house).
• Strong CAD skills to bring quick ideas from sketch to CAD and take input from design leads..
• Able to prepare design for DFM and incorporate feedback from partners (Solidworks, Rhino).
• Strong Digital Viz skills to emotionally engage clients (Keyshot, Vizcom, Flora).
• Demonstrate your role in developing commercially successful product launches.
• A passion for design and an eagerness to learn.
• Demonstrate excellence in sketching, and form development.
• Develop clear and engaging Product Stories that blend strategy, design, and brand.
• Experience retouching photography and renderings (Adobe Photoshop).
• Experience developing Design Languages and/or product families.
• Experience interacting with clients and external partners at all levels.
• Experience collaborating with external engineering and manufacturing partners.
• Ability to create clear + engaging presentations to support the design process (G Slides).
• Collaborative and Inclusive. Foster team and cultural diversity within the studio.
