About the role
Join ZeroPhase as our Industrial Designer and shape the physical form of our products, from compact battery-powered devices to radios and antenna systems for unmanned platforms. You will work closely with our electronics, RF, and production teams to turn early concepts into robust, manufacturable products that perform reliably in demanding field conditions. This is not a styling role: your designs have to survive vibration, moisture, and extreme temperatures, and they must work for users wearing gloves in the field.
What you’ll do:
Product & enclosure design
- Design enclosures and housings for compact electronic devices, radios, and antennas, from first sketches to production-ready CAD models
- Develop rugged, ergonomic solutions for field use, including battery compartments, connectors, mounting points, and controls
- Integrate antennas and RF components in close collaboration with our RF engineers, considering material choice and RF transparency
Engineering & manufacturing
- Design for manufacturing and assembly, with a focus on injection moulding, CNC machining, and small-series production
- Define materials, sealing concepts, and surface finishes to meet environmental and protection requirements such as IP ratings
- Build and test prototypes using 3D printing and other rapid prototyping methods
Collaboration
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers to bring designs into production
- Contribute to a consistent design language across our product portfolio
What we’re looking for:
- Degree in industrial design, product design, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Several years of experience designing electronic hardware products: a portfolio showing devices that made it into production.
- Proficient in 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, Siemens NX, or Fusion 360.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and design for rugged environments.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Genuine interest in deep tech, defence, or complex technical products.
