Role Description The Furniture Designer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Surat. The Furniture Designer will conceptualize and design furniture pieces that align with project requirements, brand aesthetics, and client needs, ensuring a balance between functionality, comfort, and visual appeal. Day-to-day tasks include creating detailed sketches, 3D models, and technical drawings; selecting materials and finishes; and collaborating closely with interior designers, product designers, and project managers. The role involves coordinating with carpenters and production teams to translate designs into high-quality completed products, monitoring quality standards, and making design refinements as needed. The Furniture Designer will also participate in client presentations, support turnkey projects, and contribute to efficient, cost-effective design solutions aligned with INCEPPT’s standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Furniture Design and Furniture concepts, including form, function, ergonomics, and aesthetics.
- Candidates should possess skills in Carpentry and an understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and joinery techniques.
- Candidates should possess skills in Interior Design, with the ability to integrate furniture solutions into broader spatial and architectural concepts.
- Candidates should possess skills in Product Design, including prototyping, material selection, and user-centered design principles.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in design and visualization software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar tools) and basic knowledge of 3D rendering.
- Strong spatial awareness, attention to detail, and ability to balance creativity with practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work on-site with multidisciplinary teams and manage project timelines.
