Clay Modeler – Automotive

FD Group, a consulting firm specialized in the Automotive & Industrial Machinery sector, active in Italy and abroad, is looking for a professional to join its team as Clay Modeler – Automotive.

The role:

We are looking for a professional with consolidated experience in automotive clay modeling, able to work autonomously and to collaborate with designers, surface engineers and design teams on the development of the vehicle’s aesthetic surfaces, in line with style evolutions.

Main responsibilities:

• Creation and development of full-scale (1:1) and reduced-scale clay models for the development of the vehicle’s aesthetic surfaces
• Assessment of the aesthetic and technical feasibility of surfaces, in close collaboration with the style center
• Constant interface with designers, surface engineers (CAS) and design teams
• Management of updates and revisions of the clay model in line with style evolutions
• Support in achieving convergence between style, packaging and vehicle technical constraints
• Contribution to aesthetic evaluation activities and style reviews with management

Requirements:

• Consolidated experience in clay modeling in the automotive field
• Excellent aesthetic sensitivity and precision in surface work
• Ability to read and interpret technical and aesthetic constraints
• Operational autonomy and ability to engage with designers and engineers
• Availability to work on-site at the style center in Göteborg (Sweden)
• Good knowledge of the English language

Preferred qualifications:

• Previous experience at OEMs or internationally oriented style centers
• Knowledge of Alias, CATIA or other surface modeling tools
• Experience in international style development environments
